WEEK 1  •  June 27 – July 1  Sew What?!

Cut the fabric, thread a needle, stitch one seam, and pin another. Learn the basics of machine and hand sewing as you discover the world of creating with fabric. Projects include pajama pants, and a pillow. You’ll also design custom fabric, embellish with buttons, beads, and more. Bring your machine if you have one or use one of ours.

WEEK 2  •  July 11 – 15  Art Journal Inspiration and Creation

Nurture your inner artist and create your own journal for exploring art techniques and ideas. Learn how to make paper and bind it into a book. Explore a variety of mixed media techniques and discover the wonders of marbling. Try printing with gelli plates, and venture into zentangle inspired patterns and textures. It’s bound to be a colorful week!

WEEK 3  •  July 18 – 22  Budding Artists

Picture a lively, sun filled, garden bursting with blooms, awash in color and buzzing with activity. Or maybe it’s a peaceful, shady retreat, you crave on a hot summer day. Either way gardens cultivate the imagination. We’ll start the week handbuilding with clay, designing flowers, sun shaped tile, and insects. After the clay is in the kiln, nature continues to inspire our explorations in a variety of media including—prints, pastels, fabric.

WEEK 4  •  August 1 – 5  Stop Motion Magic

Bring objects to life on screen, find out the what’s it’s like to create an imaginary world and set it in motion. Join us as we explore what it takes to make a short, stop motion animation. You’ll create characters, develop a storyboard, design the sets and capture your story frame by frame. Invite family/friends to the premiere at the end of the week.

WEEK 5  •  August 8 – 12  What Makes it Go? How Does it Work?

Build a catapult, launch some water balloons, create a marble roll, and devise a Rube Goldberg machine. Inspiration for inventors, engineers, and architects abounds as we take things apart and use ordinary items to make something new. Explore the design process, complete daily challenges, and unleash your imagination.

The camps are filled with hands-on exploration where students build, make, and create art using an array of materials and supplies. We provide exposure to mediums and techniques in a supportive, friendly environment. Children are encouraged to explore, play, and enjoy the creative process. Children will spend a portion of each day outdoors engaged in games and summer fun.

The cost of each week is $210, which includes a camp t-shirt and all art supplies (except for fabric in week 1). Fees must be paid in full on or before the first day of camp.
