Join The Conspiracy! That’s the title tune for the 2014 Christmas play at Trinity Lutheran School, a musical drama which will feature a variety of students of various ages and grade levels, participating in dialogue, song, and dance.
The show’s name and theme comes from Advent Conspiracy, a service and wellness campaign founded by a group of churches across the nation who wanted to change the way Christmas is celebrated in their communities. In the Advent Conspiracy, participants are encouraged to reject the commercialism in modern holiday traditions by creating homemade gifts, spending quality time together, engaging in service projects, and donating the money that would normally be spent on extravagant gifts to worthy causes.
”Join The Conspiracy“ tells the story of an outsider who stumbles into a shadowy clique called The Resistance, who together argue and learn about the meaning of Christmas. It was written by TLS music educator Jelani Greenidge, who also composed two original tunes to the score, which also includes pop, gospel, hip-hop and praise-and-worship songs.
Witness the revolution take place on December 18th in the Trinity Lutheran sanctuary at 7:00 pm in the church at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5520 NE Killingsworth, Portland Oregon. TrinityPortland.org
