It’s been a great week at TLS as we’ve participated in National Bully Awareness Week! Each day, we’ve explored some aspect of bullying and had amazing conversations in our classroom! God’s light is shining brightly on some areas we’ve needed to work on and we are ONE TEAM – ready to tackle bullying head on!
All throughout the week, we’ve invited the students to sign THE TLS PROMISE – a statement of personal dedication against bullying that reads:
I make a promise to stand up against bullying!
I will speak up instead of acting as a bystander.
I choose to participate in activities that don’t involve teasing.
I forgive others if they make poor choices, as Christ has forgiven me.
I model good behavior and show Tiger P.R.I.D.E.
I accept others for their differences.
I include others in group situations.
I will talk to an adult when there is a problem I cannot manage on my own.
I am powerful in making a difference in my school.
When the students responded and signed the promise, they were then asked to trace their hand and decorate it. Here’s what we did with those sweet hands of promise:
Join us as we encourage all of the students of TLS to keep God’s light shining on bullying though intervention, discussion and processing! Talk with your child about what they learned this week and how they see things changing in their own classroom!
